“Thought is the sculptor who can create the person you want to be.” -Henry David Thoreau

What a great day this is to be ALIVE!

“Great day to be alive!!” “Great day to be alive!!” That’s the way Mike Shanahan, two time Super bowl Champion Coach, started every practice with the Denver Broncos.

No one likes practice.  I can’t image big muscle-bound football players do either.  Must be tough to keep your eye on your goals (and on the ball) when it is 100+ degrees or 5 degrees and cold and snowing.

Regardless of the weather or the team win/loss record, every day he’d say, “Great day to be ALIVE!!”  Rain or shine, frigid cold or intense heat, just getting started in a positive, take-charge frame of mind puts you ahead of everyone else trying to succeed at what you are doing.

Ten years ago I survived a life-threatening illness.  And every day since my recovery I have echoed Coach Shanahan’s words…Every day is a great day to be alive! Many people ask me why I am so positive and optimistic. It’s simple; I just remember back to those frightening days when I didn’t know whether I would recover or not, and no matter what is happening, it looks pretty amazing in comparison.

Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich talks about the power of thought.  The first story is about Edwin C. Barnes.  Mr. Barnes really wanted to partner with Thomas Edison but he had a few problems:  He didn’t know Edison, and he was too broke to get transportation to get to Orange, NJ where Edison did his business.  As the story goes, Mr. Barnes got to New Jersey, presented himself to Edison and initially got a job working for Edison which eventually opened the door to become partners with Edison through selling an invention.  According to Edison,  it was Barnes’ “expression on his face” which won him over.  Barnes always thought he would be Edison’s partner.

Barnes didn’t know how he would become Edison’s partner.  He had no money to begin with, little education and no influence.  He did have initiative, faith and the will to win.

Are you success conscious or failure conscious?  Is the word “impossible” in your vocabulary?  Take it out!  Ask Henry Ford’s V-8 engine or Bill Gates’ Microsoft Windows.  Do you think they used the word “impossible”?

You are the master of your fate, the captain of your soul if…  You understand the power harnessed through your thoughts and intense desire.

Action Step:  Make a conscious effort to take today as a new start in your way of thinking.  Nothing is impossible.  Your success begins with an intense desire to succeed!!

Give yourself 3 months to meticulously follow your goal of completing 3-5 daily goals that directly tie to the larger goal you will accomplish. (Note I did not say “trying to accomplish”; I said you will accomplish). From today on, think in that state of mind.  Then stretch that new habit to 6 months…and guess what?  At the end of the year, you will have exactly what you set to achieve.

Do what the experts do, expect the same results.  Be willing to adjust your sails if you get off course, however don’t stop doing your 3-5 daily marketing To-Do’s.  They will move your business and your goals forward.

“Perception is not “the” reality. However, your perception is your reality.”

Henry Ford said: “Think you can, think you can’t, either way, you’re right.”

Your mind is a powerful instrument.

Instead of saying “I want to be ____(fill in the blank) like them.”  You should be saying “If they can do it, I can do it.”

Wealth File #9

Rich people are bigger than their problems.  Poor people are smaller than their problems.

Life has many landmines and pitfalls.  If you’re living life, any kind of life, you’re going to experience setbacks.

Poor people don’t take the high road, they don’t live BIG because they’re don’t want the hassles, headache or responsibilities that come with success.  They will do almost anything to avoid problems.  In their efforts to avoid problems, they run into the biggest problem of all -being BROKE.  “I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor and rich is better” -Roger Daly

Let’s agree that everyone has problems.  The secret to success is not to avoid your problems but to grow yourself so you are bigger than your problems.

 Wealth Principle

The secret to success is not to try to avoid or get rid or shrink from your problems; the secret is to grow yourself so that you are bigger than any problem.

Once again, whether you’re rich or poor, playing BIG or small, problems don’t go away.  The size of the problem is never the issue.  What matters is the size of YOU!

 Wealth Principle

If you have a big problem in your life, all that means is that you are being a small person!

T. Harv Eker suggests whenever you feel like you have a big problem, point to yourself and scream, “Mini me, mini me, mini me.”  That will help to wake you up and put your focus back on YOU and your goals.  Again, your wealth can only grow to the extent that you do.  Just think of yourself as a container for wealth.  If your container is small and your money is big, your container will overflow and you will lose it.  Grow yourself so large that you’re able to receive all the blessings out there for you.

Poor and unsuccessful people are problem-oriented.  They spend their time and energy blaming, justifying and complaining therefore they never come up with anything creative to alleviate the problem.

Rich people do not back away from problems.  They not only alleviate them, they go to the root to ensure that that problem does not show up again.  They believe they are bigger than any problem.  They believe they can handle any problem.  They are financial warriors!! They are not financial worriers!!

 Wealth File #10

Rich people are excellent receivers.  Poor people are poor receivers.

90% of the people you talk to will have a feeling of “not being good enough” planted in their wealth files.  All across this country people have a feeling of unworthiness and undeserving.  Most people are simply poor receivers.  They don’t understand it is better to give than to receive because you have something to give.  You can’t give what you don’t have.  You can’t give love, money, a compliment, happiness, good advice…  You can’t give anything unless you’re able to receive.  Get good at receiving and get good at being thankful for your many blessings.

And so life goes…on and on

“An ounce of performance is worth pounds of promises.” -Mae West

Are you performing or just making promises?  My idea of performing is having 3-15 daily things on my Marketing To-Do list which I know will move my business forward.

Every day, my goal is to complete 3-5 of those items.  Some are repeat items that I do twice a week or once a week, so they stay on the list.  Some items are a one-time occurrence so they come off when completed.  I am continually finding new marketing ideas that I know will move my project forward and so they go on the list as well.

I prioritize my list in terms of importance using a #1 for critical, #2 for do now and a #3 for do when time permits.  Many people ask me how I get so much done.  There you have it, it’s that simple.  However it does require a lot of discipline.

Wealth Principle

If you are not fully, totally and truly committed to creating wealth, chances are you won’t.

Why don’t people commit to building their business?  Why don’t you have a 3 year plan instead of a 3 week plan?  I believe the answer is training.  Most people are not properly trained to go the distance.  Most people are “trying” their business out to see if it will work.  Your business is not like a pair of shoes, you can’t try it on for size.  You do it or you don’t. I say why not be healthy, wealthy and wise!!  Just like the compounding penny, real riches are seen only by those with the patience and perseverance to go the distance which takes real commitment.

 Wealth File #4

Rich people think BIG. Poor people think small.

To determine your value, just take an accounting of how many people you serve or affect.  Reach out to these people in a way that “speaks to them”. If you want to be paid a lot, serve a lot which means you have to think BIG.

Wealth Principle

The Law of Income:  You will be paid in direct proportion to the value you deliver according to the marketplace.

Another great book to study is David Schwartz’s book, The Magic of Thinking BIG.  He talks about the amazing things that happen when you simply think big.  Once again we’re talking about creating a mindset (subconscious belief-Wealth File) of thinking big for success.

Most people play small because of their fear of failure and/or fear of success.

Yesterday’s blog listed some of the reasons people fear wealth:

1.       What if I make and lose it?  I’ll be a failure

2.      I’ll never know if people like me for me or if it’s just my money.

3.      It’s too much work.

4.      I could lose my health trying.

5.      I’ll be in a higher tax bracket

6.      My friends and family won’t like me.  They’ll think I’m uppity

7.      My kids could get kidnapped

Those are all fear-based notions.

The second reason people play small is because they FEEL small. They feel unworthy.  They don’t feel good about themselves, their importance or their ability to make a real impact on people’s lives.  With so much going on, it’s easy to feel insignificant.  Individually, most of us are insignificant, however together we can do amazing things!!

The key to playing BIG is taking the emphasis off of YOU.  Your life is not just about you, it’s about your contribution, your service.  A working definition of entrepreneur is simply problem solver.

How many people’s problems can you solve today?

Define what your business solves and know you can solve it for those you reach out to!  People will listen to you if you have a way to solve their problems.  In my case, I help singles find Forever Love…do any of you know how many thank yous I receive every week from people all over the world who have used my 4 Proven Steps and have found the right person, their soul mate, their Forever Love?

What problem does your business or service solve?  Define it, refine it, market it and claim it.

You can become very wealthy because you have solved a problem affecting thousands and thousands of PEOPLE.

It comes down to this:

If not YOU, then who?

If not your business, your solution, then what?

If not NOW, then when??

 Wealth File #5

Rich people focus on opportunities.  Poor people focus on obstacles.

Rich people see potential growth.  Poor people see potential loss.  Rich people focus on rewards.  Poor people focus on the risks.  Is the glass half full or half empty?  That’s a mindset!

If you are thinking: what if this doesn’t work; then it probably won’t work.

Others will “hope” that it works which is a step up.

However, the people you want to surround yourself with are those that think: it will work because I’ll make it work!!”  That’s a mindset!!

Rich people “expect” to succeed.  Poor people expect to fail.  They lack confidence in themselves and their abilities.  Let me tell you from experience that it’s tough to see the prize when you’re looking at all of the obstacles.

The greatest thing to experience is committing to something and having everything fall into place for you.  You can call it luck, however I’ve seen time and time again how I’ve “luckily” succeeded and in every case I first committed.

Rich people understand that you can never know all the information beforehand.  They operate on the “Ready, Fire, Aim” principle.  Get started then make minor adjustments to your plan as you journey to success.  It’s nuts to think you can know everything that may happen in the future.

Have faith in your abilities and have faith in the solution you provide to those who need a problem solved.

When your solution answers their problems; that’s win-win!

 Wealth File #6

Rich people admire other rich and successful people.  Poor people resent rich and successful people.

This was a tough one for me because I came from nothing.  I grew up on a self sustaining farm and had never seen many rich people.  Most farm families I knew all worked very hard from sunrise to sunset to earn their living.  We grew or made almost everything needed for our lives on the farm, so I grew up knowing I could make something out of nearly nothing.

I was taught to fin for myself and what a great gift that was.  I never resented wealthy snobs, the uppity, rich people.  No, I didn’t…I learned from them.  I watched what they did and how they did it.  I learned how to conduct myself socially and professionally.  And I took those lessons to the bank.  So don’t resent the wealthy.  Most of them have worked very hard to accumulate and grow wealth. How can you be something you despise?  The answer is you can’t.  Eventually your powerful computer called the subconscious will move you away from pain into pleasure.

 Wealth Principle:

When the subconscious mind must choose between deeply rooted emotions and logic, emotions will almost always win.

You will actually throw away money and opportunities to make money if you have deeply rooted negative emotions about money.  Remember when Halle Berry told Oprah about her 20 million dollar contract, the largest for a female actress at the time? She said she didn’t care about the money, it was more important that she blaze a trail for other women to follow…Now, that’s how to take “it” to the bank.  Be an example.

We all have files that we may be unaware of however when you feel resentment, anger, jealousy or other negative emotions swelling up, CUT THEM OFF IMMEDIATELY!!  The equivalent of this wealth file is: Don’t hate, appreciate.

And so life goes…on and on

“Let others lead small lives, but not you. Let others argue over small things, but not you. Let others cry over small hurts, but not you. Let others leave their future in someone else’s hands, but not you.” -Jim Rohn

Are you taking responsibility for your success or are you playing the blame game?

Wealth File #1

Rich people believe “I create my life.”  Poor people believe “Life happens to me.”

There are 3 clues to identify those playing the victim role: Blame, Justifying and Complaining.  We covered the Blame Game. So now we’ll look into Justifying.

#2 Justifying – If a victim is not blaming, you’ll often find them justifying.  We all rationalize at times, it is a coping mechanism for things we feel we can’t change.  You will find ‘poor mentality’ people saying something like “Money is not really important.”

What I’ve found on most occasions is anyone who says money isn’t important, doesn’t have any. That statement is a justification or rationalization for something they feel they can’t change… being broke, living check to check, having more month left over at the end of the money…

“Money is extremely important in the areas in which it works, and extremely unimportant in the areas in which it doesn’t.  You can’t pay your mortgage with love.  Peace doesn’t build hospitals or schools. If you find yourself justifying the importance of money, stop yourself, go to your mental Money Folder and take that bad information out, shred it and move on!  Replace those negative thoughts with positive affirmations.

#3 Complaining – Complaining is the worst thing you can do for your health or wealth because you attract what you focus on.  Complaining focuses on what’s bad in your life instead of what’s good.  Dale Carnegie’s famous advice is succinct in just 5 words: Don’t complain, criticize, or condemn!  His advice was given in the last century is still solid advice to live by today.

Remember the power of the tongue?

Complainers use that power in a negative way.  Don’t hang around complainers because you’ll find yourself complaining too.  We all have something to complain about but rich people don’t allow themselves to go there.

Here’s a challenge:  For the next 7 days don’t complain at all. Not about your work, not about your kids, not about your social life, nothing!  Not about lack of close in parking spaces, that stupid driver, your friends, your parents, NOTHING!!  Not just out loud but in your head as well.

Over a seven-day period you will create the best habit on the planet, the habit of not complaining.

Blame, justification and complaining simply mask the problem.  They are like a drug temporarily relieving the symptom but never getting to the root.  We’re here to get to the root.  What do we get out of being a victim??  Attention.  People thirst for attention. However, most are confusing attention with love.

When a victim blames, justifies or complains and someone acts like they give a hoot, they feel better. They feel the love when often times it’s not love at all, it’s just a way to hopefully get them to SHUT UP.

 Wealth Principle

There is no such thing as a really rich victim!

 Wealth File #2

Rich people play the money game to win.  Poor people play the money game not to lose.

You can have the best defense in the NFL but if you can’t score points you lose.  You have to go on the offensive in life to win.

The primary concern of the ‘poor mentality’ is survival and security instead of creating wealth and abundance. It’s important to always concentrate on being generous on all occasions vs. occasionally being generous.  You have to have a higher level of belief to be generous on all occasions.  You have to understand that a small portion of your wealth comes from your efforts but mostly from powers greater than you.

If your goal is to have enough money to pay bills, you lose.  If your goal is to be comfortable, you lose.  Go on the offensive.  Shoot for the stars and if you miss, you’ll still be “comfortable” beyond belief.

 Wealth File #3

Rich people are committed to being rich.  Poor people want to be rich.

If you asked someone if they wanted to be rich, about 9 out of 10 would say yes.  The one or two that says no, run away from them as quickly as possible!! The truth is most people have something in their subconscious mind (their wealth files) that tells them there is something wrong with being rich.  Here’s a laundry list of why people don’t want to be rich.

1.       What if I make and lose it?  I’ll be a failure

2.      I’ll never know if people like me for me or if it’s just my money.

3.      It’s too much work.

4.      I could lose my health trying.

5.      I’ll be in a higher tax bracket

6.      My friends and family won’t like me.  They’ll think I’m uppity

7.      My kids could get kidnapped

The list goes on and on.  These are “REAL” wealth files that people have in their subconscious mind.  They may consciously say that they want to be rich but until they address those embedded beliefs it just is not going to happen.

If, by some miracle it does happen to them, with their mindset, they will “lose it all” just like they thought.

The fact of the matter is you can be rich.  You deserve to have it all.  But if you’re sending mixed messages to your brain and to that higher power which is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above what you can do, you’re going live a “comfortable” life or worse.

The number one reason people won’t get what they want out of life is they don’t know what they want.  Rich people are totally clear about what they want and they pursue it daily. They want WEALTH.  The fact of the matter is you always get what you want, subconsciously.  Your brain is a powerful thing.  Remember, the subconscious mind works 24-7-365 moving you towards your thoughts.

You have to really want wealth subconsciously and be willing to do whatever it takes to achieve it.  There are several levels of wanting:

  1.  “I want to be rich”, which means I hope I hit the lottery.  Wanting alone is useless.  Billions of people “want” to be rich.
  2. “I choose to be rich” which is a much stronger energy.
  3. “I commit to being rich” which is the ultimate ingredient for success.  Commit is to devote oneself unreservedly.  Hold nothing back, 100% – WEIT (What Ever It Takes).

 Wealth Principle

If you are not fully, totally and truly committed to creating wealth, chances are you won’t

Try saying “I commit to being rich”.  It either gives you a feeling of power or it discourages you. Do a mental mind switch; and do it now.

But “I’m trying really hard” you might say.  Trying means little.  What are you trying?  Do you know exactly what it takes to make money?  Once you have the proper information you have to believe in your heart (which means deeply embedded in your subconscious mind) that you absolutely deserve success!  Once you truly commit,  you clear the noise and clutter from your brain files.

Once you commit you open the way for God to work.  Don’t sit on the fence; you’ll get nothing out of it but a cramp in your butt.  You have today.  Make the most of it.  It won’t come back again.  Ask someone with a terminal illness what they think of each day. Watch them and you will see they don’t waste a moment.  And we should not ever waste a moment!!  Life is precious and it is a gift!

If you have a problem with long-term commitment, try committing to today.  Every day I do 3-5 things to move my business forward.  I spent all last week writing my 3rd book.  I’m moving it forward.

Create curiosity! Set up an appointment! Make your appointment count. Help your client make a decision.  That’s what you get paid for –  promoting your business and collecting decisions.

This has gotten pretty long, so more soon.

And so life goes…on and on

“The greatest good we can do for others is not just to share our riches with them, but to reveal theirs.” Zig Ziglar

What are you revealing to those you work with and those you influence??  Can you help those you influence realize how great he or she can be?  It’s important to think about what our message leaves behind.  My website sells my books but I focus on helping singles find Forever Love.  One has nothing to do with the other in the long run.

Let’s talk about what your financial blueprint is set for and what results you are subconsciously moving toward?  Is it greatness or disaster?

Amounts don’t matter.  What matters is you recognize what you’re set for and change the settings if it is not all that you want out of life!!

Are you programmed for saving money or for spending money?  Are you programmed for managing or mismanaging your money?  Both the “Midas Touch” and the “kiss-of-death” syndromes are nothing more than manifestations of money blueprints.  Successful people have success blueprints; it’s that simple.

Everything you do and say is a result of your programming.  In most cases we’re not “aware” that we’re going through life like a robot that must obey the commands of our programming.  Do you remember the TV series “Lost in Space”?  There was a robot named Robot.  He was powerful and often saved them during crisis situations but whenever a situation came up that he wasn’t programmed for he would say, “Does not compute, does not compute”.  We also have things that we are not programmed for, things that do not compute.

You can tell what your money blueprint is set for by looking at your bank account.  Look at your income.  Look at your net worth.  Your blueprint is like a thermostat.

Wealth Principle

The only way to permanently change the temperature in the room is to reset the thermostat.  In the same way, the only way to change your level of financial success “permanently” is to reset your financial thermostat.

The first element of change is “awareness”.

Wealth Principle

Consciousness is observing your thoughts and actions so that you can live from true choice in the present moment rather than being run by programming from the past.

Let’s accept the theory beliefs are not necessarily true or false; right or wrong.  Regardless of their validity, beliefs are opinions passed around and around and then down from generation to generation to you.  Knowing this, you can now look at your hand-me-down beliefs and challenge them, discard them and “create” new empowering beliefs!  You can choose today to create empowering beliefs and habits.

 Thoughts lead to feelings

Feelings lead to actions

Actions lead to results

Everything begins with your thoughts.  Where do your thoughts come from?  That grey matter between your ears.  Metaphorically, your mind is nothing more than a big files cabinet.  Every folder is labeled and contains information that pertains to that topic so it’s easy for you to quickly retrieve information to help you make decisions. If you have a financial decision to make, you go to the Money Folder to help you make that decision.  The problem is the information in your money folder may make perfect sense to you but it’s bad information that consistently produces perfectly poor results.  Example:  Buying stuff because it’s on sale even though you’re out of money.  Most people go unaware that their folder has bad information and therefore are destined to live a life of bad financial decisions.

Spend some time to examine, identify and get rid of the bad information and replace it with good information.  Over a period of time, good financial decision after good financial decision will produce a solid and positive change.  The key is you can change and you can start TODAY.

 Wealth Principle

You can choose to think in ways that will support you in your happiness and success instead of ways that don’t.

The breakthrough message is you have to be willing to let go of being right!  If you want more of the same, keep doing what you’re doing.  However if you’re not rich, if you’re not making the money that you want from your business, it’s time you considered a different way.  Reading Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, applying the principles are “a different way” for most of you.  This “way” has worked and is working for those smart folks that are using it.  Challenging one’s belief system usually results in insult and apprehension.  Being wrong is erroneously associated with failure.  When in fact being wrong should be celebrated for it is elevating someone to a new level of understanding, furthering awareness.   Embrace the change, do the thing and you will see results.

Wealth File #1

Rich people believe “I create my life”.  Poor people believe “Life happens to me.”

You have to believe that you are in control.  Don’t play the lottery of life hoping for something to luckily fall into your lap.  Rich people take the responsibility to create a plan for their financial futures they don’t quit.

Poor people choose to play the victim role.  They’re always crying, “Poor me.”  I believe that no one is a victim.  It’s a role that anyone can play but no one has to play.  There is opportunity to take responsibility and grow no matter what race, color, economic or educational background, sex, age or size.  Let’s finish today with the first of 3 clues that one is playing the victim role.

#1 Blame – Victims point fingers at people and circumstances.  The economy, the government, the boss, customers, economy, customer service, spouse, God and of course their parents.  It’s always someone or something else that is the cause for their lack of success but NEVER them.  If you’re pointing fingers, DON’T PLAY THAT ROLE!  There is no such thing as a Rich Victim!!

#2 and #3 will be here for you tomorrow.

And so life goes…on and on

The Journey of a million miles starts with the first step!!

And if you don’t believe me, ask Polly Letofsky who walked around the world.  Her book, 3 MPH, is a great read.   Polly will agree her journey started with her first steps in Vail, CO, sent off with an amazing tribute from her mother.

And yesterday,  we took a first step together. You stepped up to read my blog and may I say thank you!

I am enjoying Secrets of the Millionaire Mind…I hope you are reading along with me.

Today we start revising our money blueprint.

There are three influences on your success blueprint/subconscious conditioning:  Verbal Programming or what you’ve heard all your life.  Modeling or what you’ve seen all your life.  And finally, Specific Incidents burned into your subconscious.  These influences are at the root of your success or lack of success.

Seems like I really use 4 alot.  Secrets of the Marriage Mouse ~ Find Your Forever Love in 4 Proven Steps…and now I share there are 4 key elements to change any bad programming:

  1. Awareness- Recognize there’s a problem(s).
  2. Understanding- Once identified, you’ll quickly recognize the problem(s) doesn’t come from within you but from outside you.  We weren’t born with bad programming, it is learned. This is important…we weren’t born with bad programming!  Say that to yourself several times every day until you believe it in your core.
  3. Disassociation- Once you understand the origin of the problem came from an external source; you can disassociate yourself and change.  You don’t have to “own” bad programming for the rest of your life.
  4. Reconditioning- A conscious effort to create your own truths about yourself, money and your ability to grow your wealth. Consciously through affirmations (and actions) and practice which over time creates a new program subconsciously.  One you created and are proud to own.

What did you hear as a child about money, wealth, rich people…?  Verbal Programming  (Parents, relatives, teachers talking gave you your verbal programming)

Now let’s look at Modeling (pardon the pun).  What did you see as a child?  How did your parents or significant role models handle money and wealth?  Were they spenders or savers, investors or non-investors, risk takers or conservative?

Were they generous or tight-fisted? Was money an issue?  Was obtaining money easy or was it a struggle.  We’ve all heard the saying “monkey see, monkey do.”  Guess what, often times,  it’s true.

 Wealth Principle:

If your motivation for acquiring money or success comes from a non-supportive root such as fear, anger, or the need to “prove” yourself, your money will never bring you happiness.

The third primary way in which we are influenced is by Specific Incidents. What did you personally experience while you were young that may have been traumatic or emotional?  Remember the wealth principle from Day 1 – When the subconscious mind must choose between deeply rooted emotions and logic, emotions will almost always win.

Have you ever said to yourself, “Self, why am I not having the success I should have in my business?”

Have you ever not made a call you knew you should make (or you promised yourself you would make); or not asked for a buying decision after spending your valuable time and money making a sales call?

Have you ever sat in your chair, frozen with analysis paralysis?

Have you ever started something but did not finish it?

The answer is a resounding YES, YES, YES!!!  We’re all guilty and there is a reason.  It could be specifically different for each of us but it always can be traced back to our subconscious conditioning.

Once again, your subconscious conditioning determines your thinking.  Your thinking determines your decisions which determine your actions, which eventually determine your outcomes.

Stay tuned…more tomorrow.

And so life goes…on and on

Secrets of the Millionaire MInd by T. Harv Eker ~ still good reading

I seem to always have a few books on the pile on my nightstand which I read just to keep my juices flowing and to keep my mind open to new, innovative thoughts. Last night I was reading T. Harv Eker’s amazing book -Secrets of the Millionaire Mind (Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth).  I’d like to share my thoughts with you.

T. Harv Eker’s says:  “Don’t believe a word I say.”  Isn’t this an interesting statement from someone writing a self help book. Nothing anyone says or anything you read is inherently true or false, right or wrong.

What I like to do is take information, study it and try it for myself. YOU have to take responsibility to take a drink from the information fountain of knowledge, swirl it around in your mouth to allow your taste buds to experience it, then swallow that which works for you and spit out those principles or concepts that don’t work for you.  You will find yourself growing into an AWESOME person much like those you’ve read and learned from.

So if you don’t like my interpretation, you can spit it out.  But I’d love to have you share your thoughts so we all can consider your point of view.

Chapter 1 Your Money Blueprint

Who are you?

Your character, your thinking, your beliefs are a critical part of what determines the level or your success.

 Wealth Principle:

Your income can grow only to the extent you do!!

In order to become a millionaire you have to become that person. Millionaires not only have millions of dollars -That’s the outward indication of a millionaire.  Millionaires think like a millionaire -That’s the inward indication of a millionaire.  Without the millionaire Mindset/Attitude/Beliefs… the money eventually goes away.

Example: Everyone has heard the lottery nightmare stories of people winning tens of hundreds of millions of dollars and losing it all within 2-3 years.  They had money but the wrong MINDSET.  Contrast that with Donald Trump – His financial thermostat is set for Billions with a B.  He lost all of his money, went bankrupt… But within about 7 years had it all back plus more.

Wealth Principle:

If you want to change the fruits, you will first have to change the roots. If you want to change the visible, you must first change the invisible.

Most people focus on the results, they focus on what’s they can see NOW.  This book suggests that you go deeper, to the roots because the roots determine the fruits.  It’s what’s going on underground that determine the fruits you see above ground.  How well are your roots nourished?

You can’t change the fruits that you see today. You are who you are right now at this point in time. But you can dig deep and nourish your roots to create new fruit tomorrow.

Start with recognizing that you need nourishment. Then believe you are in an ongoing process before you see “NEW FRUIT”!! I have made it my practice to do 3-5 things every day to promote my book, Secrets of the Marriage Mouse.  It’s a good practice.  After writing my book, I soon discovered publishers don’t promote these days; authors do.

 Wealth Principle:

Money is a result, wealth is a result, health is a result, and illness is a result.  We live in a world of cause and effect.

Example:  Runny nose. Blow it, wipe it and you’ll look clean for a while until…  You have to get to the root of the problem, the CAUSE, to change the result.

Affirmations are a powerful secret to bring about the change you desire.  The Bible says, “your tongue is as powerful as a two-edged sword.”  Words can cut deep.  You will have to choose your words carefully at first to create the powerful person you want to be but once you’ve created the right MINDSET the correct words come out effortlessly more often.

Be kind to yourself as you grow on your journey of life. Understand that we are ALL a work in progress.

Say the thing and become that thing.  Positive “self-talk” is a conscious effort.  Over a period of time, we can make positive self-talk a subconscious activity.  Once your subconscious mind is enriched with esteem and positive beliefs, LOOK OUT!!  You are about to live the life of your dreams!!  Understand that your conscious mind can change 100 times a day.  I’m fat, I’m okay, I’m fat, I’m okay, I’m fat…

Affirmations feed your mind while you are asleep erasing all the negative talk you thought about during your awake time.   The conscious mind does “feed” the subconscious mind.  It can be your best friend or your worst enemy.  Your subconscious mind however determines what or who you are because it functions 24 hours a day. While you’re asleep your subconscious mind is at work, molding you.  It’s slow to change but once set on course, you will arrive at your destination.  The question is, what course are you setting?

  Wealth Principle:

Thoughts lead to feelings

Feelings lead to actions.

Actions lead to results.

Wealth Principle:

When the subconscious mind must choose between deeply rooted emotions and logic, emotions will almost always win.

If you have time, grab this very timeless book, and join in on this dialogue.  I’ll be back with more of my “chapter by chapter notes”.

And so life goes…on and on.
